HUB PROGRAMMING & ARTISTIC POLICY

HUB

Our performance programme at The HUB embraces progressive work which otherwise might not get to be seen in Leeds.

All styles of theatre are equally appreciated at the HUB, although preference is given to new work rather than established texts. We usually like to have seen the piece or other similar work by the company before inviting you to perform so please invite us to see the show (or a research and development showing) elsewhere when possible if you are hoping to come to the HUB. Equally we are interested in which other venues, programmers and artists see the work so please include testimonials when telling us about your work.

All performances at the HUB are delivered on £paywhatyoudecide with audience paying after they have seen the performance. 100% of these monies are given to artists on the night. The HUB is not able to offer any form of guaranteed fee.

It is preferable (but not essential) that artists provide small quantity of print for internal and small local distribution (we can sticker / overprint to keep costs down).

Please make initial contact for programming by emailing information (with links rather than embedded) to porl@slunglow.org. We’ll aim to get back to you within a week. It’s great if you indicate why presenting your piece here at the HUB is important to you or how your piece might fit the ethos of the space, or compliment the HUB’s existing programme. Also note that the venue is unable to provide a resident / in-house technician.

'I have put Holbeck in my address for the last two years but today was the first time I discovered the heart of it - I had no idea about the pubs, social clubs, quaint back to back terraces and history that makes up the real Holbeck, south of the canal.  A big thanks to Slung Low for opening my eyes to a place I have claimed to call home.'  - Audience Member
