BE FESTIVAL is Birmingham’s boundary-smashing festival of international performance.
Sample three festival favourites in one night of daring and unforgettable theatre. With an emphasis on the visual and physical, Best of BE is the essential dispatch from the front lines of Europe’s theatre scene.

Best of BE offers all the important elements of the BE experience: Delicious food, An opportunity to feedback and discuss with the shows cast & creators over dinner and a celebratory atmosphere

“An intimate, generous and passionate atmosphere” – Total Theatre

This year’s line up:
From the Waltz to the Mambo by Radioballet (Hungary)
Winner: Best Individual Performer Prize, BE FESTIVAL 2014
A vintage dance manual becomes a tool to explore beauty and education. Humour and awe-inspiring physical feats combine in a disarmingly personal dance solo.

Loops and Breaks by Julia Schwarzbach (Austria)
Julia invites you to play along with her by responding to a series of instructions. A riot of improvisation, action and reaction, blurring the boundaries between audience and artist.

Waiting by Mokhallad Rasem (Belgium)
Winner: ACT Festival Prize , BE FESTIVAL 2014
A haunting meditation on the human experience of waiting; for a bus, for a kiss, for a visa, for a future not yet begun. A visually arresting collage of film, movement and sound.

The evening concludes with a chaired discussion with the performers.

“An experience to transport the audience beyond theatre” – Birmingham Post
“The evening is structured like a fresh and tasty three-course meal” – The Times

Running time: 2 hours 30 mins includes post show discussion and dining interval             Age guidance 14+
