Songs for Breaking Britain by Hannah Nicklin
A Work-In-Progress showing of a new show by Hannah Nicklin and Company.
SONGS FOR BREAKING BRITAIN. A storytelling show, with punk music.
Hannah Nicklin and Company are collecting stories – stories from people just getting by, people who don’t think they’re Important, anyone who will stop and talk to us. We got bored of the media selling our stories back to us. So we’re mixing up the old idea of the ballad; sharing stories, passing them on; with a modern form of righteous storytelling; punk music. Three chords, rhyming couplets, lots of noise. Songs from the market place, from the street, stories collected from the people you walk past; of romance, graft, bordem, everyday defeat. Songs for Breaking Britain; theatre, with punk music.
