★★★★★ What’s On Stage

A grand tour of boundary smashing European performance in one exhilarating night

Birmingham’s boundary smashing festival of international performance takes to the road on a whirlwind journey of European theatre, dance & circus. Experience the highlights from the 2015 edition as three daring solo performances land in the HUB each ready to play with audience expectation.

A humorous and honest one-woman show about love, chemistry and excess, #sobrejulieta sees Carlota Gaviño from Madrid try to win our hearts in this stripped-back new take on Romeo and Juliet.

From Italy comes Quintetto by TIDA, the 1st prize award winner at this year’s festival; a razor sharp, funny and physical theatre piece that packs a serious punch

Irish performer Darragh McLoughlin will invite spectators to determine what they watch, prompting their eyes to open and close during a multitude of rapid scene changes. The Whistle is packed with deft circus skills and underpinned by a hidden narrative.

Running time:  2 hours 30 mins including post show discussion and inclusive (vegan) supper!

“The evening is structured like a fresh and tasty three course meal” The Times

“Some of the most innovative work being made across Europe” The Guardian

Age guidance 14+

#sobrejulieta is performed in English and some Spanish, with accompanying surtitles

There is a very limited capacity so to reserve a ticket please email boxoffice@slunglow.org with the number of tickets you wish to reserve and a contact telephone number.

Tickets will be “Pay What You Decide” which means you will pay the company AFTER the show.

'I have put Holbeck in my address for the last two years but today was the first time I discovered the heart of it - I had no idea about the pubs, social clubs, quaint back to back terraces and history that makes up the real Holbeck, south of the canal.  A big thanks to Slung Low for opening my eyes to a place I have claimed to call home.'  - Audience Member
