Pete Gunson
Pete trained in Civil Engineering, with French, as he keeps on adding, but preferred life in a workshop making furniture, public art and teaching woodwork to wild kids in youth clubs before meeting street arts in Manchester at the turn of the millenium and stepping outside. He apprenticed through Space Cadets and I.O.U in their fire-breathing Land-Rover stage. His first job in theatre was as Scissor Lift Egg Layer Driver, specialist in Egg Laying. Inspired by this early success he went on to co-found Pif-Paf and has been making and touring visual and physical theatre, often about Bees, making giant animated puppets and collaborating on outdoor projects since then. In 2011 he was awarded a Puppet Centre Trust Travel and Training Bursary to work with Theatre Titanick, where much of the wizardry used in the White Whale here was learnt. With Pif-Paf heโs now exploring ways to tell stories on fast moving bits of metal in the sky, and piloting a Submercycle.
