The Holbeck is the oldest social club in Britain.
Slung Low managed the Club from January 2019 to December 2022.
During that time the club was a Pay What You Decide arts and community space. It was used as a rehearsal room, a public space, a theatre, a town square, a food bank and whatever else our community needed it to be.
We hand the club back to the elected committee in members in December 2022.
The Club was awarded Community Club and Innovative Club and Club of the Year Award 2022.

The Holbeck has a ramped entrance and lift to the upstairs performance space. There is a car park with accessible spaces and a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor. We will always do our best to meet your access requirements so drop us a line with any questions or information. Or please do chat to us when onsite, we’re usually branded in Slung Low navy tops.
There are baby changing facilities. Free wi-fi is available throughout the building. Dogs are welcome.
Slung Low manage the club’s bar as a traditional membersโ bar and the rest of the building as an open development space for artists and a place where we invite other companies to present their work that otherwise might not get to be seen in Leeds.
All work presented at The Holbeck is Pay What You Decide. The equipment and vehicles of the company are lent to those who have need. It is a useful place that shares its resources with those artists who need them.
The Holbeck is owned by the members. It was managed by Slung Low January 2019 to December 2022.
