TrainingAdventure

Adventure Training is an important part of what Slung Low does.

It is a thread that runs through our own practice and through the Leadership Academy programmes that we run.

There is something about being at the edges of your comfort zone and of experiencing adrenaline in new environments that is really useful for personal development and the honing of leadership skills. It also helps meet new people, go new places and experience different new horizons. And those are all really useful things too.

And the opportunity to do that reasonably regularly is a real privilege. And we realised that there were some in our community who donโ€™t have those same opportunities. And we can do something about that.

The Slung Low Adventure Training Fund

This fund helps support young people (aged 16-25) who live in Inner South Leeds (the mighty area of Holbeck, Beeston, Cottingley) to take part in Adventure Training.

Thatโ€™s organised training that pushes your physical and mental limits to help you learn something new about yourself.

That might be an expedition somewhere, canoeing, a climbing trip, going to sea, or any number of exciting possibilities that we have not yet thought of.

Qualifying young people can apply for up to ยฃ250 to support an activity.

You just need to drop us an email to info@slunglow.org telling us a little a bit about yourself, what where and when the activity is and why it will help you develop personally.

All we ask in return is that when you return home you drop us a note letting us know how it went and what you learnt. And a photo would be brilliant for our wall of adventure!

Any questions about how we can help just drop us an email. And hereโ€™s to learning through adventure!
