This brand new show takes a frank and funny look at a life-altering disease that affects one in ten women in the UK.

Stand-up comedian and theatre maker Amy Vreeke creates multi-genre, autobiographical work that explores social taboos with candour and comedy. Amy was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2016. Now sheโ€™s here to relive twelve years of misdiagnosis, toilet-based mishaps and failed one-night stands. Endometriosis causes the uterus lining to grow in other parts of the body, creating a wide range of painful symptoms that can affect a womanโ€™s everyday life. Through bluntly delivered jokes, captivating storytelling and a little help from the Gilmore Girls, Amy explores the taboos that surround womenโ€™s health and gives us an insight into a life with a chronic illness.

About The Holbeck :
The Holbeck is a community club that welcomes everyone, run by Slung Low.
Our address is The Holbeck, Jenkinson Lawn, Holbeck, LS119QX. This show is โ€œPay What You Decideโ€ – you decide how much to pay after you have taken part.
The show has a limited capacity, so if you change your mind before the event, please let us know by emailing boxoffice@slunglow.org to ensure we donโ€™t turn others away unnecessarily.
Please note that the venue is cash only.

This event takes place up one set of stairs. There is a new stairlift on our main staircase. We have recently taken over the running of the venue and are currently raising funds for a lift to make the theatre fully accessible. If you would like to discuss your access requirements, donโ€™t hesitate to give us a call on 0113 226 0808.

Parking:

We have recently installed a new lockable bike shed next to the front door and you can get the code for the door from a member of Slung Low.

The Holbeck has a free car park. Please do use it. If thereโ€™s no spaces left please donโ€™t park in the street immediately around the club: this is permit only and youโ€™ll get a very expensive ticket which weโ€™d hate. Thereโ€™s permit free parking on Holbeck Moor Road which is just 50 metres away: itโ€™s the road that runs alongside the park.
